Shared Expense Splitter

For housemates, couples, trips, siblings sharing a parent's costs, or anyone keeping a running tab with people they'd rather stay on good terms with. Each row is one expense: the date, what it was, the amount, who paid, how it splits, who owes what, and whether it has been settled. Writing the split down at the time is what prevents the argument later, because nobody has to reconstruct it from memory. It is a ledger you keep, not a payment service — it moves no money, chases nobody, and gives no financial advice.

Frequently asked

Where is my data stored?

Only on this device, in your browser. Nothing is ever uploaded — export to CSV/JSON to back it up, print it, or hand it to whoever needs a copy.

Does this tool work anything out for me?

No. It is a record, not an authority. It stores exactly what you typed and does not calculate tax, value anything, check a rule, or decide whether a requirement has been met — the registry, board, county or agency involved is the only place that answers those.

Does it work out the split for me?

No — you write in what each person owes. That sounds like extra work but it is the honest option: real splits get adjusted for who wasn't there, who covered something else, and what everyone agreed in the moment, and a formula would quietly overwrite all of that.
