Gift & Occasion Tracker

A running list of gift ideas and gifts given, so the same jumper doesn't get bought twice and December doesn't arrive as one large bill. Each row holds the person and your relationship to them, the occasion and the date it's needed by, a budget, the idea itself, where it stands from Idea through Bought and Wrapped to Given, what it actually cost, and where you bought it in case it has to go back. Ideas turn up in March and are forgotten by November; writing them down when you notice them is the whole trick, and buying across the year instead of in one panicked fortnight spreads the cost. It keeps the list — it suggests nothing, buys nothing and sets no budget for you.

Frequently asked

Where is my data stored?

Only on this device, in your browser. Nothing is ever uploaded — these lists hold personal details about you and about other people, and they stay here. Export to CSV to back the list up, print it, or move it to another device.

Does this tool work anything out for me?

No. It is a list you keep, not an authority. It stores exactly what you typed and does not value anything, check a rule, calculate a figure, or remind you of a date — the insurer, issuer or agency involved is the only place that answers those.

Why record what I spent as well as what I planned to spend?

Because the gap between the two is the useful number. After one round of occasions you can see what you actually spend on a birthday, and next year's budget column stops being a guess.
